The ActivatOR Outdoor Recreation Business Accelerator is a seven week program launched by the Outdoor Recreation Division in partnership with Activate New Mexico, funded through the U.S. Economic Development Administration Travel, Tourism, and Outdoor Recreation program. This federal investment supports economic development and recovery, enabling innovative initiatives like ActivatOR to strengthen New Mexico’s outdoor recreation economy.

Since its inaugural cohort, ActivatOR has supported 28 New Mexico-based companies. With flexible online sessions and regional in-person learning hubs, the program is designed to be accessible statewide and offers instruction from industry pros on topics like seasonal cash flow management, marketing tools, funding paths, business pitch coaching, access to Adventure Pitch Fest and more.

This program fosters collaboration and idea exchange in a supportive environment and reflects ORD’s commitment to supporting outdoor recreation businesses and ensuring sustainable long-term growth and innovation in the sector.
