The program intends to enhance accessibility for mobility-impaired community members through the expansion of parking and walkways, and construct new bays with seasonal outdoor classrooms and improved canopies. Additionally, it plans to upgrade roadways and shooting bays with gravel and crusher fines, and purchase clean dirt for impact berms.
The Sidney Paul Gordon Shooting Range is a County owned & operated outdoor facility that is open to the public for a minimal daily fee (annual passes are also available). This range has been established and open to the public for more than 30 years. In recent years we have seen the need for expansion due to overwhelming interest in the safe use of established areas for individuals to shoot recreationally, train in personal safety, and participate in competition. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment for new, current, and future firearms and archery participants to learn, practice, and advance their skill sets in all shooting disciplines. We continually work to improve safety within shooting sports and the wider community. We strive to provide resources and an environment in which the public can gain the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for safe fun shooting sports and personal firearms/archery use.
