Since 2016, Flower Hill Institute has been running STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and Indigenous Knowledge summer camps for tribal youth, blending western scientific concepts with traditional cultural perspectives. The program enhances participants' understanding of their unique heritage while promoting outdoor recreation and climate-specific education, ultimately benefiting both the youth and the local community.
1. Since 2016, Flower Hill Institute has been hosting summer camps for tribal youth. FHI has received a UL Innovative Education Award for this work. 2. In 2018 Flower Hill hosted an inter-Pueblo run from the center of the Pueblo of Jemez to Pueblo Bonito in Chaco Culture National Historic Park. 3. FHI’s Sharing Indigenous Foodways Program has garnered attention for its featuring of Native American Chefs and Tribal members demonstrating traditional foods and cooking techniques.
