ORD 2025 Highlights

In 2025, the New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division expanded awareness of both the Outdoor Recreation Trails+ Grant and Outdoor Equity Fund, with each program receiving a record number of applications and unprecedented funding requests. This calendar year, our team reviewed 269 grant applications and awarded $13.7 million to 128 recipients, supporting outdoor recreation infrastructure projects and youth outdoor programs across 20 New Mexico counties. These awards leveraged $11.7 million in matching funds and supported 20 Tribal-led initiatives and more than 602 jobs. The Outdoor Recreation Division is grateful to support community-driven projects that strengthen and expand New Mexico’s outdoor recreation infrastructure while advancing equitable access to the health, cultural, and community benefits that outdoor recreation provides.
