Grants MainStreet Project, Inc.

Grants MainStreet is the catalyst for revitalizing, beautifying and energizing downtown Grants through education, promotion and assistance. Established in 1997, Grants MainStreet is a charitable, nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving Grants downtown area and, through that, the entire community of Grants. Our vision is to be a model MainStreet organization and an invaluable resource, through the unified efforts of our progressive leadership, to facilitate a stimulus for commerce. Our work in the last 2 years has seen a training program to improve hospitality, customer service and create jobs at the same time (Hospitable Grants!). We have installed a new mural in town and continue to apply for grants to install more. We have hosted many events from our 1st year car show (Spokes on 66) to our longest lasting event (27th Annual Holiday Light Parade). We have helped small businesses each year with our Shop Small Saturday promotional events and raised funds for our operating budget with many fundraisers like Expression of Veterans. As a newly accredited MainStreet America program, Grants MainStreet has met its prerequisites to become a NMMS Great Blocks awardee for capital improvements along our economic artery, Santa Fe Avenue/ Route 66. In unison with the achieving accredited program status, we’ve recruited new board members, almost reaching our capacity and have begun filling out our 4-point committees to assist in all the work of revitalizing downtown Grants.
