Grants Awarded
The High Desert Kids Program will facilitate year-round outdoor education and recreational opportunities for over 100 K-12 students in Cibola County, focusing particularly on those hindered by poverty and limited resources. Utilizing substantial local outdoor resources, the program will provide equipment, transportation, and professional instruction to enable outdoor activities like hiking, camping, and conservation projects. It aspires to enhance participant physical health, environmental stewardship, and leadership skills, and to cultivate appreciation for natural resources, thereby inspiring future conservation leaders and promoting sustainable, equitable outdoor recreation in the community.
