Partnerships
As a central connector between funding, partners, and on-the-ground programs and projects, the New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division works collaboratively with communities, Tribes, local governments, and industry partners to expand equitable access to outdoor recreation statewide. The division focuses on increasing safe, inclusive opportunities to get outside; fostering stewardship of New Mexico’s public lands and waters; supporting outdoor education and workforce pathways; and strengthening local economies through outdoor recreation and tourism.

Confluence of States
The New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division is honored to be part of the Confluence of States and to have Director Karina Armijo serving as Co-Chair in 2026, for this bipartisan coalition of state Outdoor Recreation Offices dedicated to advancing the nation’s outdoor recreation economy, protecting our wild places, and transforming conservation into a driver for economic prosperity.
There are currently 24 states with offices that serve as central hubs for promoting outdoor recreation, supporting local economies, and enhancing public health through increased access to nature. By joining forces with the Confluence of States, we reaffirm our commitment to fostering a vibrant, sustainable, and inclusive outdoor recreation community that benefits all.
EndeavOR New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Business Alliance
Supports the growth of New Mexico’s outdoor recreation economy through business development, networking, and advocacy. ORD sponsors EndeavOR and works to connect outdoor businesses to the alliance.
Outdoor Recreation Roundtable

The New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division is a member of the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR), the nation’s leading business coalition advancing a sustainable and growing $1.2 trillion outdoor recreation economy for the benefit of all Americans.
ORR works to promote policies that conserve public lands and waterways, enhance infrastructure, and improve the experiences and quality of life for outdoor enthusiasts.
