Our Partners - New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division

Our Partners

The New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division (ORD) works at the intersection of community, conservation, and economic development. We partner with local governments, Tribes, nonprofits, land managers, state and federal agencies, and outdoor industry leaders to strengthen New Mexico’s outdoor recreation ecosystem.

Through these partnerships, ORD helps communities expand access to outdoor recreation, build and maintain infrastructure, support youth and workforce pathways, steward public lands and waters, and grow local economies through outdoor recreation and tourism. Our role as a convener allows us to align funding, policy, and on-the-ground implementation to deliver lasting statewide impact.

Confluence of States

ORD is an active member of the Confluence of States—a bipartisan coalition of 21 state outdoor recreation offices working together to align leadership, share best practices, and scale state-led solutions nationwide. By convening decision-makers and building shared capacity, the Confluence of States accelerates the growth of the outdoor recreation economy while supporting responsible stewardship and expanded access. Director Karina Armijo serves as Co-Chair in 2026.

EndeavOR New Mexico: Outdoor Recreation Business Alliance

ORD partners with and sponsors EndeavOR, New Mexico’s outdoor recreation business alliance. EndeavOR supports outdoor businesses and entrepreneurs through networking, advocacy, and business development resources. Through this partnership, ORD helps connect outdoor companies—across gear, guiding, manufacturing, tourism, and services—to tools and relationships that support business growth and job creation in communities throughout the state.

Outdoor Recreation Roundtable

ORD is a member of the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR), the nation’s leading coalition of outdoor recreation businesses and organizations representing a $1.2 trillion national outdoor recreation economy. ORR advances federal policies that conserve public lands and waters, invest in recreation infrastructure, strengthen supply chains, and support a sustainable outdoor economy. ORD’s participation ensures New Mexico’s priorities and perspectives are represented in national outdoor recreation policy conversations.
