Adelante Development Center

The mission of Adelante is to support people with disabilities, seniors, and disadvantaged populations by providing employment, residential and day services, and other community resources such as the Destination Accessibility program. Adelante has grown from serving six adults living with disabilities in 1978 to becoming one of the largest human service nonprofits in New Mexico, assisting over 50,000 individuals annually. Adelante was nationally recognized for their innovation in support of people with disabilities and seniors, and the ways we are using innovation to help the community. In May of 2022, Adelante accepted the Innovation Award from SourceAmerica, a national organization supporting employment for people living with disabilities. Adelante has provided several innovative programs and community resources over the past 45 years, and continues to do so with its newer program, Destination Accessibility. Started in 2023, Destination Accessibility solves the accessibility challenges for travelers and adventurers with disabilities by providing mobility equipment rentals such as wheelchairs and mobility scooters that gives affordable mobility to the communities, cultures, and landscapes of New Mexico. Adelante has the experience, resources, and determination to find innovative solutions to improve the community and quality of life for people with disabilities. Destination Accessibility provides the necessary mobility equipment in New Mexico for accessing the outdoors and the important destination points for adventurers with mobility equipment.
