Audubon has been delivering impactful educational programs to Santa Fe youth for over 25 years, helping them connect with their local environment and wildlife conservation. Through hands-on outdoor science experiences and a three-year partnership with the Santa Fe Outdoor Education Collaborative (SFOEC), students receive continuous learning opportunities that build on previous knowledge and skills, fostering a deeper understanding of their surroundings. This initiative not only benefits participants but also enhances community awareness and engagement in conservation efforts.

The Randall Davey Audubon Center seeks to enhance outdoor engagement in Santa Fe through its new Nature Discovery Area, which will provide hands-on play, wildlife observation, and educational resources. Funding will facilitate bilingual signage that fosters a deeper understanding of conservation, local ecology, and community heritage, ultimately enriching participants’ outdoor experiences while promoting environmental stewardship in the local community.

Total Grants Awarded: $41,945.53

Annually serve >1000 students from Santa Fe Public Schools, (primarily Title 1). An estimated 10000 students have visited the Randall Davey Audubon Center in the last 15 years through our Outdoor Field Science program. Founding member of the Santa Fe Outdoor Education Collaborative- a partnership of teachers and conservation non-profits providing 3 sequential years of outdoor education. Despite COVID-19, Audubon distributed >5000 activity kits and engaged >1000 students from March 2020-May 2021.
