The program recruits 5-10 Bernalillo High School juniors and seniors as sustainable tourism interns, equipping them with essential skills and cultural insights through hands-on experiences in local outdoor spaces. Participants will design itineraries for eight tours involving elementary students and community volunteers, fostering engagement and healing in the community while facilitating meaningful connections between local youth and tourism opportunities. Ultimately, the interns will gain valuable employable skills, and the program will enhance local tourism offerings by incorporating the interests of young people.
