Farmington Area Single Track’s (FAST) mission is twofold: to empower the youth of Farmington and neighboring communities by offering the region’s inaugural youth cycling program and to contribute to the development of an all-encompassing non-motorized single-track trail system in the Farmington area. Through our youth cycling program, trail development, and community engagement efforts, we are striving to create a better future for Farmington and its residents. By promoting outdoor recreation, environmental stewardship, and economic growth, we are committed to making a lasting and positive impact on our community’s well-being. Youth Cycling Program: At the heart of our organization is the commitment to introducing the first-ever youth cycling program in Farmington and neighboring areas. We recognize the importance of providing opportunities for young people to connect with the outdoors, develop valuable life skills, and stay active. Through our cycling program, we aim to inspire a love for outdoor activities, foster a sense of adventure, and promote physical fitness among our youth. By instilling these values, we hope to contribute to the well-being and development of the next generation. Non-Motorized Single-Track Trail System: FAST is dedicated to the development of a comprehensive non-motorized single-track trail system in and around Farmington. Our goal is to create a network of interconnected trails that showcase the natural beauty of the region while encouraging responsible and sustainable outdoor recreation. These trails will not only benefit our local community but also attract visitors from afar, boosting tourism and bolstering the local economy. Enhancing Quality of Life: Our organization firmly believes that access to outdoor recreation is a cornerstone of a high quality of life. Engaging in outdoor activities fosters mental and physical well-being, reduces stress, and strengthens community bonds. It is our hope that by creating accessible spaces for outdoor enjoyment, we can contribute to a happier and healthier community. Environmental Rehabilitation: FAST is committed to responsible environmental stewardship. As we develop and maintain our bike trails, we are equally dedicated to preserving and rehabilitating the natural environment. Through sustainable trail design and ongoing conservation efforts, we strive to strike a balance between outdoor recreation and environmental preservation. Stimulating Local Economic Development: Our initiatives extend beyond the realm of recreation and conservation. We recognize that a thriving community requires a strong local economy. By attracting outdoor enthusiasts and visitors to Farmington through our trail system and youth program, we anticipate a positive economic impact. Community Engagement: Collaboration is key to our success. FAST is committed to working hand-in-hand with community organizations. We will host trail maintenance and development events that engage our community members in caring for and enhancing our bike trails. These events will not only improve the trails themselves but also educate participants about responsible trail use and environmental conservation. Together, we can build a strong and connected community.
