Hooked on Nature: Fishing for Equity, led by Future Innovators Academy (FIA), is an outdoor education program geared towards introducing 25 disadvantaged youths in Hobbs, New Mexico, to fishing, environmental conservancy, and outdoor activities. The program encompasses lessons in fishing basics and environmental principles, culminating in an overnight camping at one of New Mexico's popular fishing places, with all costs covered. The ultimate goal is to build confidence and peer relationships in the participants, enhance their appreciation for nature, and increase their awareness of conservation, all while breaking barriers to outdoor accessibility.
