Partners in Education Foundation for the Santa Fe Public Schools
Grants Awarded
The Partners in Education Foundation annually facilitates 50-75 outdoor educational field trips for Santa Fe Public Schools students, offering unique environmental and cultural experiences. The field trips are inclusive, removing financial barriers to accessibility, and manage all logistics, from transport to bookings. Despite financial constraints dictating a limited number of trips, the foundation also hosts a summer program that provides bi-weekly outdoor experiences, fostering respect for the environment and native cultures.
The Outdoor Learning Initiative by Partners in Education Foundation provides equitable outdoor recreation and environmental education for Santa Fe Public School students, especially those in Title I schools, through field trips and a free 5-week Hands-on Heritage program. In collaboration with the Outdoor Equity Fund, it will offer around 60-70 educational experiences to nearly 3,000 students from pre-kindergarten to twelfth grade. It not only coordinates logistics but also ensures the lessons align with New Mexico academic standards. The wide range of activities at various New Mexico public lands aims to develop ecological literacy, foster a bond with regional natural and cultural resources, instill a lifelong value for outdoor recreation and conservation, and ensure all students access these opportunities regardless of income.
