This program will provide children from Isleta Pueblo with enriching experiences by taking them to explore New Mexico's state parks, promoting physical activity and outdoor engagement. Participants will learn about local history, develop skills in a new sport through a mobile Putt-putt course, and receive education on bike safety while exploring nature along the Rio Grande. Additionally, financial assistance for running shoes will support their participation in the community's cross country team, fostering both personal and communal growth.

Isleta Pueblo is revitalizing a popular trail segment by repaving it and adding outdoor exercise stations and shade structures. This initiative will offer the community enhanced opportunities for healthy outdoor activities, ensuring a safe environment for elders and individuals with special needs to walk, ride, and engage in exercise.

The Mission of the Pueblo of Isleta Parks & Recreation Department is to provide programs and parks systems that meet community needs and promote community involvement in recreation, fitness, parks, cultural activities, education, health and family activities in well maintained, accessible and safe facilities and environments. The vision of the department is to provide and offer facilities, programs and services that allows our tribal members and tribal employees to experience physical, mental, and social benefits to their leisure time participation and to provide opportunities for young people, adults and elders to live, grow and develop into healthy, contributing members of the Pueblo of Isleta and beyond. We offer a number of fitness related activities (Cross Fit, Yoga, Chair Aerobics and Yoga, etc.) we also provide league play (basketball volleyball, softball, etc.) and numerous other health related programs and activities (runs, youth Cross Country team, etc.) as well. This facility also has an Aquatics Center that is open to the tribal community and our aquatics center staff is available to teach swim classes to the community on a daily basis. Our facility plays a huge role in providing healthy programs, services and activities to the Isleta community.
