The Growing Forward Farm Project in Aztec, NM, will connect over 3,000 4th graders from 18 elementary schools in San Juan County to local agricultural heritage through funded field trips and hands-on activities. By engaging students in practical agricultural and conservation practices, the program will inspire a passion for fresh foods and outdoor activities, fostering lifelong connections to nature and promoting healthier lifestyles in the community.

Total Grants Awarded: $19,800

Held 24 Backyard Conservation Workshops since 2019, which educated community members about conservation topics, with the goal of empowering the participants to implement practices in their own backyard. Annual Rolling Rivers Trailer demonstrations to 4th grade classes – this interactive watershed model provides an engaging lesson about rivers and where our water comes from. Partnered with San Juan County CES to fund the soil health and riparian demonstration areas at Growing Forward Farm
