The project intends to boost tourism and local engagement in Eagle Nest through various initiatives including updating town signage and creating recreational spaces like a renovated skate rink, a kids' pond, and an adult garden. Another component is the rehabilitation of the Eagle Nest Gateway Sign and replacement of historic trail signs, with efforts to highlight the town's history and promote outdoor exploration. With the town's facade revamped and new community spaces, visitors and locals alike will have improved access to outdoor activities, environmental education and a sense of community pride.

FOR NEARLY A QUARTER CENTURY, Sangre De Cristo Communities Interacting, a 501 C 3 (Dba Enchanted Circle Gateway Museum/Eagle Nest Visitor Center) has been a Community Centered Non-Profit Serving the Enchanted Circle, Moreno Valley and Northern New Mexico Region. The museum curates/houses/interprets displays items of historic interest, greets visitors and provides educational literature and programs. It is the oldest continuously serving Non-Profit in Eagle Nest. (see Mission Statement). RECENT ACCOMPLISHMENTS: · Conduct annual (average 15) educational lecture field/trips for the public and local schools on history, geology, fly fishing and other areas of educational and historical importance; · Designed, hosts, maintains website: www.VisitEagleNest.org which features educational, historical information and supports local businesses. · Museum licensed by State of NM to conduct program: Water In the Southwest/Eagle Nest Dam Tour; · Designed/Installed 44 Historic Walking Tour Signs; · Designed/Printed Pamphlet: Eagle Nest – Explorers Guide – Adventure Base Camp · Installed Yield to Pedestrian signs on US 64 · Sponsor and co-sponsor local events · Sponsored/Designed/Staffed Display at NM Outdoor Economic Conferences (2022, 2023) MISSION STATEMENT • To provide educational opportunities and related services by preserving items reflecting the historical and cultural heritage of the mountain towns and villages in the Sangre de Cristo mountains of North Central New Mexico. • To provide visitor services and events that benefit residents and businesses as well as tourists. • To offer interactive educational programs for residents and visitors of all ages. • To house extensive displays and outdoor enhancements. • To provide a unique destination point of interest and value attracting additional tourists to the area. • To provide a beneficial relationship with northern New Mexico businesses, residents, and visitors.
