Taos Center for the Arts
Grants Awarded
The Taos Center for the Arts (TCA) seeks to revitalize its campus by creating attractive outdoor green spaces for public art, performance, recreation, and relaxation, fostering community unity and education about the unique qualities of rural Taos. This initiative will improve accessibility and enhance TCA’s identity as a historic and cultural art center, benefiting both local residents and visitors.
Taos MainStreet has partnered with NM MainStreet, Anthropopulus Design and Amy Bell, Principal Landscape Architect, to revitalize the TCA campus into a public, ADA-accessible infrastructure enriched with green spaces for art, recreation, education, and relaxation. Progress thus far includes a refurbished Stables Courtyard featuring an amphitheater and stage, with plans for an enlarged main entrance, extensive trails linking vital areas, and wayfinding signage. Later stages include constructing a retention pond and parking area, expanding greenery, and adding an Acequia Interpretive Center and historical plaques.
