Our Mission To educate children in the areas of science, climate science, regenerative solutions, arts, outdoors, civics, mindfulness, advocacy and action and to create opportunities for them to feel interconnected with the natural world so that they may mobilize a human world to fully support all beings. Our Program The Global Warming Express, or GWE, founded in 2012, is a Science, Climate Change, Arts and Action Education organization and a fast-growing kids’ movement, created and led by kids, for kids. The program has expanded from schools in Santa Fe, NM to statewide. Our original widely-acclaimed program is called the Global Warming Express, for ages 9-12. Subsequent programs include the GWE Outdoor Curriculum for ages 8-10 and the GWE Online Curriculum, for ages 9-12. The GWE is now in process of developing a new program, the Global Warming Emergency, for ages 13+. The GWE kids have won awards from Hasbro, Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, Sustainable Santa Fe, Heritage Preservation Santa Fe, the NM Governor’s Award, Sprout Award from NM Power and Light, Climate Leadership Award and a Congressional Award from then- Congresswoman Deb Haaland. Throughout the past 11 years, the kids have created change at their school, community and state level, even helping to shape public policy. Most recently, the GWE Outdoor program has become the GWE kids’ favorite program and the introduction of mindfulness, compassion and empathy training into that program has helped the children to feel engaged with nature anywhere – from their playground to their neighborhood areas to the NM national forest.
