Our goal is to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors through the development and maintenance of world-class outdoor recreational facilities. **Current Programs and Activities:** 1. **New Pump Track and Skatepark:** Recently completed, our state-of-the-art pump track and skatepark cater to enthusiasts of all skill levels, swiftly becoming popular among residents and visitors. 2. **Tennis and Pickleball Court:** Our newly developed court provides a space for both recreational and competitive play, expanding the range of activities available in Red River. 3. **Trail Maintenance:** We prioritize the upkeep of OHV and hiking trails, ensuring safety, accessibility, and enjoyment for all users. This ongoing effort reflects our commitment to preserving the natural beauty of the region while promoting responsible outdoor recreation. 4. **Professional Outdoor Sports Events:** Red River is boldly promoting major outdoor sports events by partnering with reputable organizations. Collaborating with Gemini Adventures, we host the Enchanted Forest Trail Races, attracting trail runners from across the country. Additionally, our partnership with The Ride Collective (formerly known as Outside Events) organizes the Enchanted Circle Bicycle Tour, showcasing the scenic beauty of the region and establishing Red River as a top-tier destination for outdoor sports enthusiasts. 5. **Park Upgrades in Collaboration with NM Outdoor Recreation Division and New Mexico Main Street:** – Actively working with the New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division to upgrade Mallette Park, enhancing its facilities for a more inviting space for outdoor activities. – Partnering with New Mexico Main Street to upgrade Brandenburg Park, enriching recreational options and creating a welcoming environment aligned with the community’s vision for a vibrant outdoor space. **Top Accomplishments:** 1. **Recognition as the Best Ski Town in North America:** Awarded the title by USA Today in 2021 and 2023, solidifying Red River’s position as a premier destination for exceptional winter sports experiences. 2. **Community Engagement:** Successful initiatives, events, and festivals have fostered a sense of community, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere for all who explore the outdoor wonders of Red River. 3. **Steady Visitation Growth:** Over the past five years, Red River has experienced remarkable growth, with visitation increasing from 350,000 to an impressive 550,000 annually. This surge underscores the appeal of our outdoor offerings and the effectiveness of our marketing and community engagement efforts, positioning us as a dynamic and thriving community captivating the hearts of diverse outdoor enthusiasts.
