The Village of Eagle Nest is a small community located in the northeastern part of New Mexico, nestled within the beautiful Moreno Valley. Surrounded by the stunning Sangre de Cristo Mountains and Eagle Nest Lake, the area is a popular destination for outdoor activities such as fishing, boating, hiking, and skiing. The village’s location near the Carson National Forest and the Enchanted Circle Scenic Byway adds to its charm and draws visitors year-round. With a population of just under 300 residents, Eagle Nest is a rural village that thrives on its natural beauty and recreational opportunities. For years, the Village of Eagle Nest has worked alongside the Beautification Committee, NM Clean & Beautiful, and other community and state organizations to improve local park and recreation spaces. This collaborative effort has led to the transformation of the Enchanted Eagle Park, located in the heart of the Village. The park has undergone a remarkable revitalization, with all materials and labor for the pavilion/group shelter being donated by community members and organizations. The final phase of construction, which includes adding electrical work and completing the T&G roof, is underway, and the community is eager to see the project finished. Additionally, the youth of the community have requested the installation of a pump track, which will be a vital new feature of the park. This project reflects the growing sense of unity within Eagle Nest as the community works together to create a space that enhances both recreation and connection for people of all ages. Through ongoing efforts, the Village of Eagle Nest continues to improve its infrastructure, attract visitors to support local businesses, and host community events, all while enhancing the recreational opportunities for both residents and tourists.
