The projected Ancient Path trail project aims to create a recreational, educational and artistic trail linking El Morro business district with El Morro National Monument. Utilizing off-highway private property and incorporating key features like rest areas, interactive educational stations, community art, and accessibility enhancements, the trail endeavors to reduce highway traffic while enriching community engagement with the national monument. Besides local and tourist enjoyment, it also provides potential training sites for youth groups like ZYEP (Zuni Youth Enrichment Project) and Ancestral Lands.

The mission of Zuni Mountain Sanctuary (ZMS) is to foster stewardship of the land as a consensus-based, inclusive, sustainable & intentional Radical Faerie community. The Sanctuary offers context for exploration & practice of spirituality, permaculture, creativity & transformation. We aspire to live in peace & harmony with ourselves, those around us & the Earth which sustains us all. ZMS and The Pueblo Ancient Way LLC. have a vested interest in land stewardship projects locally with substantial volunteer hours invested into the greater El Morro community over many decades. Both organizations also have actively supported LGBTQIA2S+ communities.
