NM Outdoor Recreation Business Survey

The New Mexico Outdoor Recreation Division (ORD) is dedicated to identifying the challenges and celebrating the successes of outdoor recreation businesses across the state.

ORD, in partnership with endeavOR, New Mexico’s outdoor recreation business alliance, recently conducted an Outdoor Recreation Business Survey. The findings from this survey provide valuable insights into the needs and aspirations of our outdoor recreation (OR) businesses. Respondents highlighted critical areas for improvement, emerging trends, and challenges facing the future of the industry.

ORD is committed to supporting and growing the outdoor recreation industry in New Mexico. By addressing these key areas, we aim to ensure a prosperous future for our OR businesses, significantly contributing to the state’s economy.

Part of that support is in the recently launched ActivatOR, the first of a three-year Outdoor Recreation Business Accelerator program in collaboration with CNM Ingenuity. This initiative supports OR businesses seeking growth and development. We were thrilled to see 36 applicants from the outdoor sector competing for 18 available slots. Providing an accelerator specifically geared towards the outdoor recreation industry underscores our commitment to making New Mexico a prime location for outdoor recreation businesses, whether a start-up, established producer of gear, provider of an outdoor experience, or professional services supporting the outdoor sector.

ORD is excited to work with and support outdoor entrepreneurs, providing them with the tools and guidance they need to grow and thrive, regardless of where they are on their business journey.
