The Adventure Pitch Fest is an annual competition hosted by ORD in partnership with CNM Ingenuity’s ActivateNM. Designed to support and elevate outdoor recreation startups, this event provides entrepreneurs with the opportunity to pitch their innovative business ideas to a panel of industry experts, investors, and outdoor leaders

In 2025, the event is being completely revamped, becoming a standalone event open to the public and will take place on November 6 at Railyards in Albuquerque. New Mexico-based outdoor recreation businesses will be invited to apply for a space to showcase their goods and services and will have the opportunity to apply for a fast-paced pitch competition with cash prizes. The past three years, Adventure Pitch has taken place during the New Mexico Outdoor Economics Conference, one of the state’s leading events focused on the outdoor economy. Selected finalists presented five-minute pitches, competing for cash prizes totaling $15,000: $10,000 for first place, $3,000 for second, and $2,000 for third. Beyond financial support, participants gain valuable exposure, networking opportunities, and complimentary access to the conference, including booth space at the expo to showcase their ventures.

Past finalists have represented a wide range of outdoor-focused businesses, from sustainable product innovations to technology solutions enhancing outdoor experiences. The event fosters entrepreneurship and economic growth, helping early-stage companies refine their business models, connect with potential partners, and scale their impact within New Mexico’s outdoor industry.
