Outdoor Economics Conference

ORD is a proud supporter of the New Mexico Outdoor Economics Conference, an annual event that brings together industry leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and community advocates to advance the state’s outdoor recreation economy. Organized by the nonprofit Outdoor New Mexico, the conference provides a platform to discuss strategies for leveraging protected lands, outdoor businesses, and recreation infrastructure to drive economic growth.

Each year, the conference rotates locations throughout the state, highlighting New Mexico’s diverse outdoor opportunities and economic potential. The 2025 Outdoor Economics Conference will take place September 17–19 at Red Rock Park in Church Rock, NM. This year’s event will place a special focus on policy issues affecting Indigenous communities, along with insightful discussions on economic development, outdoor industry trends, and recreation access. The conference location, surrounded by stunning red rock formations, offers a unique setting with camping options, an amphitheater, and a museum featuring Native American artifacts.

ORD’s ongoing support for this conference reflects its mission to drive sustainable economic growth through outdoor recreation. By fostering industry connections, supporting entrepreneurship, and engaging in key policy discussions, ORD’s participation helps shape the future of outdoor recreation in New Mexico.
